US Kindle Preorders. The Hachette & Amazon Dispute

For some months now there has been an ongoing commercial dispute between my publisher, Hachette, and U.S Amazon. Among other challenges, this situation is leaving me and my fellow authors at Hachette with a lack of the pre-order facility on any of our upcoming releases – my ONE NIGHT series included. This is, of course, a huge headache for me and is tarnishing what should be an exciting time.

Amazon were amazing for me and helped get my story out there when I ventured into the world of self-publishing. I have a huge amount of respect and gratitude for them, but I would be lying if I said that their handling of the dispute isn’t frustrating me. I and countless other authors are caught up in the middle of this disagreement, and, subsequently, our readers, too. I could get my knickers in a right old twist over this, but my only concern now is ensuring my readers get my ONE NIGHT books on publication dates in the U.S. My American based Kindle readers may not be able to pre-order any of my books, but they WILL be available to download on release day.

I’m determined not to let this whole situation put a dampener on mine or my readers’ excitement, so please don’t let the lack of a pre-order deter you from investing in my new story.

I WILL enjoy publication date for PROMISED, despite some questionable tactics being adopted by Amazon during this commercial dispute. There’s no doubt that if there was ever a time an author needed their readers support, now would be that time.
